True Knight is looking for a special person who loves unique children. The right person is mission oriented and a team player,has strong interpersonal communication skills and high expectations of themselves and our students. Patience and innovation is a must.
The teacher will provide Sensory Training and behavior modification while integrating academic skills to challenged students; be able to teach a classical style (ABEKA), in a contained multi-level classroom to up to 6 students. Be able to differentiate to maximize the students capacity with a willingness to look outside the "normal" educational box. Document the student's progress and achievement. Hold parent conferences.
Qualification Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related study or a combination of education and experience. An education degree is not necessary, but a heart for special needs kids with high expectations works well. Good writing skills a must. Experience with any of the following: TLP, IM, ABA, PECS, Balametrics, INPP, ABEKA
Day School Teacher's Aide
Like all our positions at True Knight, a heart for our kids and a lot of patience is a must. The ability to work with differing students with academic and possibly behavior challenges goes along with the job.
Our Teacher's aide could be working in a particular classroom under the guidance of the Teacher of Record or may be required to work one-on-one with a student in a tutoring-type situation. Other responsibilities could include clerical work, cleaning, and lunch room duty. At True Knight, we all wear many hats with the goal of developing the best learning environment for our students.
The teacher's aide must have a high school diploma, have some exposure to special needs students and a willingness to follow our academic lead. Some college is preferable but not required for the right candidate.
The right person for this position needs to love our special needs students. They must have a heart for kids and education. Our after school program integrate brain training activities with fundamental academics.
The right person is mission oriented and a team player,has strong interpersonal communication skills and high expectations of themselves and our students. Patience and innovation is a must. The candidate must be willing to work though school break camps.
Some college is required and having been around special needs students is a plus.
